Fees, Charges and Refunds
Fernwood Learning are transparent with our course fees, so you won’t have to go through a long sales process to find out the cost of a course like you do with many of our competitors. Prior to enrolment you will be fully informed on fees, charges and refund policies relating to your course.
Below is a breakdown of the total fee for each of our current course options available. Total fees include all tuition, material and administrative fees.

Additional fees apply for resubmissions and extensions as per our extension and resubmission policies.

Fernwood Learning do not accept more than $1500 in advance for course fees. Payment plans are available for courses over $1000. Contact an Education and Career Advisor to discuss payment plan options. Plans are tailored to individual circumstances with only a small deposit then fortnightly instalments required.
All fees must be paid in full prior to certificates being issues. Where students are more than 30 days in arrears with instalment payments, Fernwood Learning will restrict course access and withhold training and assessment services until payments are up to date.
Fernwood Learning does not offer government funded courses. Individuals may be eligible for Centrelink payments whilst studying the Certificate III and/or IV in Fitness, as well as the Certificate IV in Weight Management. Contact Centrelink or our Education and Career Advisors for more information.
Other funding options such as Traineeships may be available.
What do student fees cover?
Unless otherwise specified, course fees include the cost of all compulsory training and assessment materials. Any optional textbooks and materials that may be recommended but not required for completion of the course, are not included in course fees and will be an additional cost should the student wish to purchase such materials.
All course fees include up to three (3) attempts at assessment per unit/cluster. Where an additional assessment is required in order to achieve competency, Fernwood Learning reserves the right to charge a student, except for state funded trainees and apprentices, an additional re-assessment fee in accordance with the fee table provided on the relevant Written Agreement.
For reissuing of a qualification testamurs, record of results or statement of attainment, an additional fee will be incurred at the rate of $50 per document.
All course fees, include a non-refundable deposit and/or enrolment fee. This amount is specified on all course information about fees and charges and on the Written Agreement signed by each student prior to entry into a course. The enrolment fee is non-refundable except in the instance where Fernwood Learning is required to cancel a course due to insufficient numbers or for other unforeseen circumstances.
If a student chooses to withdraw from the course they will be charged the greater amount of the following:
- The amount applicable to the percentage of the course accessed prior to withdrawal. Access includes the commencement of the unit or module through obtaining access to the training and assessment material; or
- The amount applicable to the timeframe enrolled in the course. Timeframes are calculated on a percentage from initial enrolment to the full course fee at six (6) months after the date of enrolment.
Once the prescribed refund period has expired students will be liable for all course fees including future instalment payments. If a student withdraws they will have the option to pay the remaining course fee upfront or continue their direct debit instalment plan.
Applications for withdrawal must be received in writing, utilizing the withdrawal application form provided by Fernwood Learning.
Students may withdraw from online courses within 7 days of enrolment. Applications for withdrawal received in writing prior to 7 days from enrolment will be charged a $100 admin fee and the remainder of the course fee will be refunded. Students may withdraw more than 7 days after enrolment, however will be liable for the full course fee.
Fernwood Learning will complete the training and/or assessment once the student has commenced study in their chosen qualification/course. In the unlikely event Fernwood Learning cannot complete the training and/or assessment, students will receive a full refund of remaining course fees.
