If you hold an old Certificate III in Fitness, the Skill Set in SIS30315 Certificate III is the bridging course to allow you to streamline into the Certificate IV in Fitness.

The Skill Set is the perfect opportunity to pathway into a higher-level qualification and further your career in the fitness industry.
This course will provide you with the pre-requisite units to enter into the SIS40215 Certificate IV in Fitness, as well as fill the gaps from your certificate III in Fitness to the current version. Gaps include additional skills and knowledge in exercise science, nutrition and older adults exercise.
Online + work placement and assessments.
This course is self-paced; however, students will have a maximum of 6 months to complete.
The Skill Set in SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness requires completion of 7 core units and 2 elective units. Elective units have been chosen to meet the entry requirements of SIS40215 Certificate IV in Fitness.
Students are require to undertake work placement in order to meet assessment requirements for this course. There is no minimum hour requirement for placement in this course. Practical assessments must be completed under the supervision of a qualified fitness staff.
Where possible, Fernwood Learning will assist students to find a suitable work placement at a Fernwood Women’s Health Club.
Fernwood Learning run practical workshop weekends for training and assessment within the Skill Set SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness. Students completing the skill set are only required to attend the final day of the workshop. Workshops are optional, however students that do not attend the workshop will be required to complete the observation assessments via video.
For entry into the Skill Set in SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness, Students must hold the following units of competency:
- SISFFIT301A - Provide fitness orientation and health screening
- SISFFIT303A- Develop and apply an awareness of specific populations to exercise delivery
- SISFFIT304A- Instruct and monitor fitness programs
- SISFFIT308A- Plan and deliver gym programs
- SISFFIT302A - Provide quality service in the fitness industry
- HLTAID003 Provide first aid
A Pre-Training Review is also used to determine your suitability for the qualification and to ensure you are capable of completing the course.
